Smart Textile Fencing Piste

Artos’ new textile fencing strip marks the beginning of a technological revolution in fencing sport. It utilizes smart (intelligent) fabrics and yarns (incorporating printing technologies and inks, such as OLED, luminescent, silver, and graphene technologies). This combination allows electrical and thermal signals to generate corresponding luminous information or signals directly on the fencing strip itself or to be transmitted to digital devices. The integration of scoring systems, screens, and measuring units is also possible. The fencing strip is PFSA-free and promotes environmental protection and sustainability. The patented fencing strip is lightweight and can be rolled out and rolled up.
Artos received a grant for this project. This grant is provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and tax revenue based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
